Local personality Jude Bacalso faces multiple charges in connection with a viral incident in which the transwoman reportedly 'scolded' a waiter for calling her "sir" and allegedly made him stand in front of her for nearly two hours.

The incident, which occurred on July 21 at a restaurant in a mall in Cebu City, went viral on social media after a netizen posted about Bacalso's encounter with the waiter.

Bacalso is facing charges of unjust vexation, grave scandal, grave coercion, grave threats, and slight illegal detention, which have been officially filed with the Cebu City Prosecutor's Office.

The complaint, filed by the waiter involved in the incident, was received by the fiscal office on Wednesday.

According to the complainant's lawyer, Ron Ivan Gingoyon, the waiter remains traumatized by the confrontation, citing severe effects on his mental state despite it being over a month since the incident.

The lawyer noted that the TV personality did not contact the waiter to offer a personal apology, despite posting a public apology on her Facebook account days after the confrontation.

Bacalso reportedly became upset when the waiter addressed her as "Sir" and allegedly made him stand in front of her for almost two hours. She then took to social media her frustration over the 'misgendering' incident.

After receiving significant backlash on social media, Bacalso apologized and acknowledged that she could have handled the situation differently.
