Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Dutere expressed her support for both grand rallies in Manila and Davao City today, January 28.
In a statement posted on her official Facebook page, Duterte said she would be attending the "Bagong Pilipinas" kick-off rally at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
"Kaisa ang buong Department of Education sa pagsusulong ng 8-point Socioeconomic Agenda ng Marcos administration para sa pagbabago ng buhay ng mga Pilipino," she added.
Meanwhile, the Vice President conveyed that she is one with the prayer rally against charter-change at Rizal Park in Davao City.
"Mahalagang makita at maintindihan natin ang panganib na nakaamba sa atin oras na tuluyan nating isinuko ang ating Saligang Batas sa kamay ng mga taong may personal at politikal na interes," she said.
Duterte furthered that she stand against the paid signature campaign for the People's Initiative.
The People's Initative drew controversy earlier this month following reports that citizens in various districts were compeled to sign cha-cha petition papers in exchange of money.
The “Bagong Pilipinas” kick-off rally and the candlelighting prayer rally will simultaenously commenced at 6 PM.
Spearheded by President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., the "Bagong Pilipinas" kick-off rally highlights a serbisyo fair and a free concert.
The candlelight prayer rally, to be led former President Rodrigo Duterte, seek to oppose the proposed amendment to the Philippine 1987 Constitution through the People's Initative.
