Vice President Sara Duterte has thanked President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. for his continued trust and respect in her as the education department's secretary.

Marcos earlier said that Duterte remains in the said position despite the political rift between him and the latter's family.

She also showed her gratitude to the president for respecting her stand against the paid signature drive for the People's Initiative to amend the 1987 Constitution.

Duterte then conveyed that she respects the views and opinions of his father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and his brothers including Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte.

She, however, noted that respecting does not mean she agrees with them.

The former president has accused Marcos as "drug addict", saying that the latter uses cocaine and that he has been in the narco list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Baste, on the other hand, called the president to step down from Malacañang due his "laziness" and "lack of compassion" to fellow Filipinos.
