The Office of the Vice President (OVP) confirmed on Thursday the recent departure of Vice President Sara Duterte amid the devastation caused by Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon yesterday.
"The Vice President is on a personal trip with her family overseas," OVP said in their official statement today.
The OVP called it "unfortunate" that Duterte's departure coincided with Typhoon Carina and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon affecting most areas in Luzon.
Additionally, it was noted that her trip had received the necessary approvals, as shown by the travel authority from the Office of the President dated July 9, 2024.
OVP assured that the Disaster Operations Center, institutionalized by the VP, will always be ready to assist affected families of calamities.
On July 24, witnesses spotted VP Duterte alongside her family in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, allegedly departing for Germany.
