Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday congratulated President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos on his “successful” first year in office.
“Makalipas ang isang taon, napatunayan ni Apo BBM ang determinasyon ng pamahalaan na tuparin ang mga naging pangkao nito sa mga Pilipino noong eleksyon,” she said in a statement.
Duterte said her former running mate Marcos has been “hard-working” and “persistent” in continuing the works left by his predecessor, former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte and in introducing new programs and projects to uplift the lives of Filipinos.
The Vice President and Education Secretary said she is delighted that the current administration focuses on bolstering the country’s economy, providing job opportunities, addressing poverty, supporting the vulnerable sectors, building relevant infrastructures, strengthening the quality of health and education, as well as strengthening foreign relations.
“Ang Office of the Vice President at ang Department of Education ay nagpapasalamat din sa ating Pangulo sa kanyang suporta sa ating programa para sa ating mga kababayan sa buong Pilipinas at sa kabataang Pilipino,” she said.
Duterte then called the public to support the Marcos administration in order to attain the country’s aspiration.
“Sana ay palakasin pa natin ang ating pagkakaisa - at gamitin natin itong sandata upang malampasan ang mga darating na hapon sa atin bilang isang bansa,” she further said.
Marcos is expected to deliver his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on June 24. Earlier, he said the speech will cover what his administration has managed to do in the first year and will do more in the near future.
