Vice President Sara Duterte reiterated that she will not resign from her position despite the rumors surrounding an impeachment case against her and controversies being directed at her.
"Hindi ako aalis dito dahil nilagay ako ng mga tao dito believing that I will work for the country and that is what we did. We worked," Duterte said during a press briefing on Wednesday.
She stated that she feels there is no basis for impeachment, which is why others are searching for anything they can use against her.
"Ngayon, ang tract ni France Castro at Trillanes is impeachment. Gumawa sila ng isa pang tract the resignation," said Duterte.
According to Duterte, a group might claim that the impeachment is for wrongdoing, while another group may tell her that if she doesn't step down, she is clinging to her position.
However, Duterte stated that she is accountable to the 32 million Filipinos who placed their trust in her.
Duterte further noted that her manner of responding to lawmakers' questions is simply due to her confidence in being able to answer all of them.
"Nakakapagod 'yung galit nila," she said in closing.
When asked about her recent visit with former Vice President Leni Robredo in Naga, Duterte stated that if anyone should speak, it should be Robredo, as she is the owner of the house that was visited.
