The Luzon and Visayas grids will be placed under yellow and red alert on Thursday, May 23, according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

In its latest advisory, the NGCP said the red alert in the Luzon grid will take effect from 1:00 PM–5:00 PM and 6:00 PM–10:00 PM.

A yellow alert will take effect from 12:00 PM–1:00 PM, 5:00 PM–6:00 PM, and 10:00 PM–12:00 AM on May 24.

Luzon grid's available capacity is 13,531 megawatts, but its peak demand is 13,597 megawatts.

Meanwhile, the Visayas grid will be under red alert from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

A yellow alert will occur at 12:00 PM–2:00 PM, 4:00 PM–6:00 PM, and 7:00 PM–10:00 PM.
