After much speculation and discussion, the new team entering MPL Philippines and the return of MLBB icons Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario to the biggest esports league in the country has finally been confirmed.
In an official league announcement, Aurora Gaming was revealed as the new home of VeeWise for the upcoming Season 14.
Aurora Gaming was founded in August 2022 and has quickly become a prominent name in the esports industry. With its headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Aurora Gaming boasts an impressive roster across various regions and game titles.
“The latest chapter in Aurora Gaming's expansion is the launch of our MLBB (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang) team based in Metro Manila, Philippines. With mobile esports’ brightest stars, the royal duo OhMyV33NUS and Wise Gaming joining our Aurora Gaming Company, there are a plethora of reasons to be excited about the future,” said the official statement.
“We believe in the immense potential of MLBB as an esports discipline and we eagerly look forward to our roster showcasing their talents as part of Aurora’s hearth and home.”
Recently, the duo announced their departure from Blacklist International, where they secured three MPL Philippines and M-Series titles. VeeWise had been on a two-season leave of absence from the team before this return.
However, the specific roles of the MLBB icons in the new team remain unclear: whether they will be part of the coaching staff or return as players is yet to be decided.
The official roster of Aurora will be announced on July 27.
