Vanessa Sarno made an early exit in the women's weightlifting 71 kilograms division on Friday, August 9 (Paris Time), in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.

Sarno dropped out of medal contention after failing to lift 100 kilograms in all her three attempts in the snatch portion.

American weightlifter Olivia Reeves won the gold medal after she registered a total lift of 262 kilograms: 117 kilograms in the snatch portion and 145 kilograms in the clean and jerk.

Mari Leivis Sanchez of Colombia placed second with a total lift of 257 kilograms while Angi Paola Palacios Dajomes of Ecuador snagged the bronze medal after she finished with a total lift of 256 kilograms.
