President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has officially named Filipino-American actress Vanessa Hudgens as the global tourism ambassador of the Philippines.
Hudgens made a courtesy visit at Malaca&ntilde;ang where she was given a plaque of recognition.
In the photos posted by Malaca&ntilde;ang, the 34-year-old actress was joined by Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications Secretary Paul Soriano and Tourism Secretary Maria Christina Garcia Frasco.
On Sunday, Hudgens arrived in the country to shoot for a <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/vanessa-hudgens-to-visit-ph-for-travel-docu-explore-filipino-roots" target="_blank" rel="noopener">travel documentary </a>that will dive into her family history and her Filipino roots. The docu-film is directed by Soriano.
After her arrival, the Holywood actress went hiking and swimming with her mother and sister in El Nido, Palawan.&nbsp;
She shared several photos of her trip on her Instagram account.&nbsp;
Hudgens rose to fame after her remarkable portrayal of Gabriela Montez in the film series "High School Musical" that first premiered in 2006.
