United States of America manifested their willingness to extend aid to anything the country will be needing after the wrath of Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon that caused widespread flooding in the country.

During the visit of United States of America Secretary of State Antony Blinken and United States of America Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in the Malacañang Palace, they extended their condolences and sympathy to victims of Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon that caused widespread flooding in the country.

"Our deepest condolences to all of victims of the recent typhoon and to say again, anything we can do to be of assistance, we welcome doing that," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Tuesday.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin seconded Blinken's statement stating that US and the Philippines are more than allies, the two countrys are families.

Blinken and Austin are in the country to attend the 2 + 2 ministerial dialogue.

Together with PH's Foreign affairs secretary Enrique Manalo and Defense secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr, the two are also set to sign a military intelligence sharing agreement between the US and Philippines.

The agreement is set to provide PH with high level intelligence and sophisticated arms, including missile systems.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reiterated the significance of re-examining the alliance between US and PH amidst situation in the West Philippine Sea and Indo-Pacific Region.
