Farmers group Unigrow Philippines Jimmy Vistar said rice can be sold for P20 to P25 per kilo.
In an exclusive interview on DZRH's Damdaming Bayan, Vistar said some government officials only base their decisions on data without knowing the real situation.
"Ang problema kasi sa mga nagsasalita diyan sa mga nasa taas, ay puro sila data at tumatanggap sila sa siguro sa mga report galing sa friend na hindi nila tinitingnan kung tama ba o hindi, kung meron bang proteksiyon yung gumagawa ng report, " Vistar said.

"Hindi kasi sila umaapak sa baba, nas taas lang sila e, kaya hindi nila alam aniong nagyayare sa baba," he added.

According to Vistar, he even sent letters three times to Malacañang suggesting their formula to lower the price of rice in the country, but they just rejected it.

"Kailangan kasi malaman talaga ang totoo paano masolusyonan, ang problema on record tatlong beses na ako sumulat sa Malacañang, hindi ako nag-alok ng benta--binalewala, sinagot tayo ng pabalagabag. paano ka masiyahan dyan?" said Vistar.

Unigrow Philippines could still sell rice at a price of P25 per kilo.

The farmers groups' president said they now only focus on helping Local Government Units (LGU) in provinces.
