The University Athletic Association of the Philippine (UAAP) suspended the head of the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors Women's Volleyball Team.
In a statement, the collegiate league explained that the suspension of Jerry Yee for the remainder of the season stemmed from a complaint raised against him "on account of conduct violative of the purposes of the UAAP."
UAAP said that the Board of Trustees concurred with the findings of the board of managing directors that that Yee "had engaged in acts inconsistent with the league's objectives."
"The UAAP, as an organization of educational institutions, prioritizes maintaining a close-knit relationship among its eight member schools through healthy competition, and demands the highest ethical and professional standards from those expected to mold the student-athletes," the UAAP said.
UAAP assured that Yee can still participate in the training of the Lady Warriors, and coach the team in events not under the purview of the league.
The league also assured that the suspension of Yee has no effect on the standings of UE in the ongoing women's volleyball tournament.
