According to PAGASA, Typhoon Uwan will continue to move west-northwestward in the next 12 hours before exiting the La Union area and emerging over the West Philippine Sea by Monday afternoon.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov. 11–12), the cyclone may re-intensify slightly as it turns northward, then northeastward toward the Taiwan Strait.

By Thursday, November 13, Uwan is forecast to make landfall over western Taiwan and then weaken into a severe tropical storm due to less favorable atmospheric conditions.

PAGASA warned that hazards such as heavy rainfall, severe winds, and storm surges may still occur far from the cyclone’s center, emphasizing that residents should not rely solely on the storm’s projected track.

Hazard Summary

  • Heavy Rainfall: Moderate to heavy rains expected across Northern and Central Luzon, possibly causing floods and landslides.

  • Storm Surge: Up to 3 meters possible along coasts of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA.

  • Sea Conditions: Very rough to high seas up to 12 meters, making sea travel extremely dangerous.

PAGASA urged residents under Wind Signals Nos. 3 and 4 to brace for destructive winds and remain alert for flooding and landslides. Mariners are strongly advised to stay in port until conditions improve.
