Soobin of K-pop boy group Tomorrow X Together shared his experience of an alleged taxi overcharging incident during a recent visit to Cebu City, expressing disbelief over the driver’s sudden fare increase.

In a vlog, Soobin documented the situation as he and a friend took a taxi ride, initially estimating the fare at around 300 pesos based on a ride-hailing app. The pair agreed to pay 500 pesos for the trip.

However, upon reaching their destination, the driver allegedly demanded 1,000 pesos — double the agreed amount.

“I can’t believe he’d raise the price so suddenly like that,” Soobin said in the video.

He added that even after arriving at their hotel, the driver continued to insist on the higher fare. Soobin and his companion refused and paid only the previously agreed 500 pesos.

The incident has drawn attention online, with viewers raising concerns over fare transparency and the protection of tourists from similar experiences.
