

Authorities arrested two Chinese nationals after they attempted to evade a police checkpoint during an “Oplan Sita” operation in Barangay Bayanan, Bacoor City on Saturday, May 3.
According to the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO), officers conducting a routine checkpoint along Daang Hari Intersection flagged down a suspicious RAM pickup truck with an improvised license plate number.
Instead of complying with the inspection, the driver of the pickup truck accelerated and fled the scene.
The police personnel immediately launched a pursuit operation. The suspects were eventually nabbed along Bacoor Boulevard after officers were forced to shoot the vehicle’s rear tire to bring it to a halt.
The suspects were identified as alias Ang, 27, a resident of Taft Avenue in Pasay City, and alias Zao, 29, of Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.
Authorities have confiscated gun, four pieces live ammunition, three boxes of 5.56 mm ammunition with 60 rounds, 45 pieces 9mm live ammunition, two rifle scopes.
Additionally, three vehicle plate numbers, one black Gucci wallet containing assorted IDs and Visa card, 9 cell phones were seized.
All confiscated items are currently undergoing forensic and technical examination to determine possible links to ongoing criminal investigations, including reports of abduction and kidnapping incidents both within Cavite and in nearby provinces.
The suspects are now facing multiple charges, including violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority), Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and provisions of Section 261 the Omnibus Election Code in relation to the ongoing Comelec gun ban.
