Vice President Sara Duterte should resign from her post as Education Secretary, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said on Tuesday, January 30.
#SaraResign

#SaraResign," said Trillanes in his post on X (former Twitter).
The statement was made following Bayan Muna chairperson Neri Colmenares' remark saying that it may no longer be tenable for Duterte to be part of the Cabinet as an alter-ego of the President.
Meanwhile, President Marcos defended Duterte, saying that he would remain as the Education Secretary, noting that his relationship with her remained "exactly the same."
It can be recalled that Marcoses and Dutertes exchanged blunts due to the talks oft charter change and the use of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, the Vice President said that she would prioritize the Philippines and will "stay true to my work at the Department of Education unless the President says otherwise.'
Duterte was still appointed by Marcos to be the country's caretaker before leaving on a two-day state visit to Vietnam on Monday.
The Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education have yet to comment on the calls for her to step down.
