The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised motorists about alternative routes for vehicles and trucks heading southbound and northbound on Thursday, January 9, in observance of the Feast of Jesus Nazareno.

For Light Vehicles

  • Southbound: Vehicles from Roxas Boulevard and Taft Avenue may take United Nations Avenue, proceed to Nagtahan Otis, turn left at Mabini Bridge, and continue to Magsaysay Boulevard and Lacson Avenue to reach their destination and return.
  • Northbound: Vehicles coming from Malabon-Navotas and the Port Area may take Anda Circle, pass through Soriano Avenue (Intramuros), and proceed to Magallanes Drive towards Chinatown.

For Trucks

  • Northbound to North Harbor: Trucks from SLEX should proceed along Osmeña Avenue, turn right at Quirino Avenue, go straight to Nagtahan Street, continue to Lacson Avenue, turn left at Yuseco Street, and proceed to Capulong Street. From there, they may turn either left or right onto R-10 Road to reach their destination.

During a press briefing on January 5, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna announced that approximately 6 million devotees are anticipated to participate in the Traslacion of the replica.

Beginning January 8, the Philippine National Police (PNP) will spearhead security measures in Quiapo, deploying 12,000 personnel. This will be bolstered by an additional 2,500 personnel from various agencies, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine Coast Guard.

Prior to the procession, a Misa Mayor will be held at the Quirino Grandstand, with Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula officiating the mass.
