Magnificent 7 and other transport groups threats to conduct a nationwide transport strike all over the country if Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero pushes through with the resolution to suspend the Public Utility Vehicles Modernization Program (PUVMP).
Drivers and operators who are already registered and belonging to consolidated cooperatives considers the motion of Sen. Escudero an 'insult' to 81 percent of the transport sector who believed and supported the aspiration of the government to modernized the transport industry in the country.
"Mga kasama, dumating tayo sa punto na isang pinakamabigat na gagawin natin, ang pagtigil- pasada," Pasangmasda President Obet Martin said on Monday.
"Tayong lahat ay magsama-sama, magbigkis-bigkis at paglaban natin ang ating sinimulang programa," he added.
He then urged all the transport groups to come together and fight for the program that they began.
Together with the Magnificent 7, Pasangmasda, LTOP, ALDTODAP, Stop and Go, ACTO, UV Express Federation of the Phillipines and other huge transport cooperative all over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will initiate the transport strike.
The group reiterated that Escudero won't understand the program that underwent scrutiny starting from the previous administration.
They reiterated that the Marcos administration continued with the program for the betterment of the masses, most especially the public transport sector.
Additionally, the group manifested their willingness to meet and discuss with Escudero.
Lando Marquez of LTOP mentioned that the Senate President was preceded with emotions.
Apart from the nationwide strike, Obet Martin declared that senators who'll give their votes in favor of the PUVMP suspension, will no longer receive support from them.
