The Department of Tourism-National Capital Region (DOT-NCR) is pleased with its decision to continue using the "Love the Philippines" logo and slogan despite the criticism and controversy surrounding the stock footage used in the promotional video.
The DOT-NCR regional director, Sharlene Zabala-Batin confirmed on Wednesday that the office will continue using the launched logo and slogan until further notice.
Batin further explained that the elements used for the new tourism campaign will always be used in her office&rsquo;s deliverables, such as letters and art cards for social media posting, and she would stop using them if there was a black-and-white directive from the national agency.
The features of the new brand can be seen on the buses used for the DOT's Philippines Hop-on/Hop-off bus tours in Manila, which debuted last week.
The logo is also available on the DOT website.
Since July 10, it has also been present at DOT events such as the opening of the first tourist rest area in Medellin, Cebu, which Tourism Secretary Frasco attended, and the launch of the "Drive Pinas" campaign between the agency and automobile firm Nissan Philippines.
It is uncertain whether the DOT will keep the "Love the Philippines" branding designed by advertising agency Doyle, Dane, and Bernbach Philippines, but Frasco has frequently hinted that it will.
DDB Philippines admits to using stock material recorded in other countries in creating the new tourist campaign's promotional video, which was displayed during the grand premiere on June 27, which President Marcos attended.
The DOT had <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/dot-terminates-contract-with-dbb" target="_blank" rel="noopener">canceled its contract</a> with the ad firm as a result of the admissions.

While she admitted that the agency had set aside P49 million for the branding contract, Frasco insisted that "not a single peso was paid" for it.
