The casts of Topakk receive their award during the 50th MMFF Gabi ng Parangal last Friday in Solaire Resort & Casino in ParaƱaque City.

"Topakk", the action-packed Filipino film, had a stellar night at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal on Friday, taking home three major awards at Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque City.

The film, which earned 12 nominations, won "Best Float", the "Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence", and the "Jury Prize Award".

Lead actor Juan Carlos "Arjo" Atayde, along with his co-stars and the production team, walked the red carpet to accept the honors, celebrating the film's compelling action and unique storytelling.

"Given that we are the most action-packed film this Christmas, may we give all genres a reason to comeback this Metro Manila Film Festival," said Atayde.

Directed by Richard Somes, "Topakk" was the only action film in this year’s MMFF and also garnered international attention after screenings at Cannes and Locarno in 2023. The film tells the story of Miguel (Atayde), an ex-soldier with PTSD, who teams up with Weng (Julia Montes) to fight a corrupt police cartel.

The film's success at the MMFF also highlights its strong performances from Montes, Kokoy De Santos, Sid Lucero, and Bernard Palanca, as well as its multiple nominations, including Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director.
