Senator Francis Tolentino has allegedly resigned as chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
According to the report of Raymund Dapdaas in Rapido Hataw Balita on Wednesday, the information came from sources inside the Senate panel saying that Tolentino already packed his things in the office.
The report said that starting January next year, Tolentino will no longer serve as the chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee.
Sen. Allan Peter Cayetano will reportedly replace Tolentino.
Meanwhile, in a brief interview, Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri said he has yet to receive any resignation letter from Tolentino.
Tolentino is one of the seven senators who will be re-elected in the 2025 midterm election.
In the history of past elections, two chairmanships of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee have not been re-elected after an investigation into anomalies in the government was conducted.
Tolentino will remain as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Justice.
