Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta met President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the Malacañang Palace on Friday, November 11.
At 9 in the morning, Marcos met Ramos-Horta at the Palace grounds for their scheduled bilateral meeting.
The meeting is set to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the Philippines and Timor-Leste.
Technical, political, educational, and economic partnerships are some of the aspects that will be tackled in the said meeting.
Ramos-Horta has been leading East Timor since 2022. He previously served as president from May 20, 2007 to May 20, 2012.
In 1996, Ramos-Horta was a co-recipient of the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize, along with Carlos Filipe Ximenes Belo for working "towards a just and peaceful solution to the conflict in East Timor."
