Thirdy Ravena signs multi-year deal with Neophoenix
by Kristan Carag12 May 2021

Thirdy Ravena has decided to remain with the Japanese basketball team San-en NeoPhoenix.

The NeoPhoenix announced on Monday, May 10, that the 24-year old Filipino basketball player has signed a multi-year contract with the team, but did not divulge further details.

Ravena signed up with the NeoPhoenix for the 2020-2021 season of Japan's B.League.

However, the three-time UAAP champion only managed to play in 18 games, out of 59 games, with the NeoPhoenix due to problems in securing his visa, needing to undergo 14-day quarantine, catching the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), and various injuries.

After the NeoPhoenix decided to extend his contract, Ravena expressed gratitude for the trust and support of the team.

"It was indeed a tough time for me last season, having to miss a lot of games and not being able to help the team as much as I want," Ravena said in statement posted in the website of NeoPhoenix.

"But despite that, it was all love from the NeoPhoenix club and boosters; which was why it wasn't hard for me to make this decision. I'm excited for the next coming years with this club," he added.

NeoPhoenix finished with 12 wins and 47 losses in the recent season of Japan's B.League.
