The Jo Bros are coming home to the Mouse House this holiday season for a Christmas comedy film set to be released later this year!
Whoever said it’s still too early for Christmas has clearly never seen the recent teaser video for the Jonas Brothers’ upcoming movie. The pop-rock trio is reuniting with Disney for a holiday movie, produced by and starring them.
Fans of the trio can ready their cozy pyjamas because the Jonas Brothers’ reunion with Disney+ is set to be released just in time for this year’s holiday season. News about the upcoming project was announced on Wednesday, January 29, through Disney+ and the Jonas Brothers’ social media accounts.
The working title, “Jonas Brothers Christmas Movie,” will star Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas, who will “face a series of escalating obstacles as they struggle to make it from London to New York in time to spend Christmas with their families.”
The teaser featured the three brothers, standing outside a front door while holding handwritten signs (a lovely homage to Love Actually) of the announcement. As Nick pointed out, the whole point of the signs was to let its audience read it.
The film will be produced by the trio alongside Adam Fisbach, Spencer Berman, and Scott Morgan. Meanwhile, it will be directed by Oscar-winner Jessica Vu.
The Jonas Brothers and Disney go way back to the mid-2010s. The trio released their second album through the Disney-owned label, Hollywood Records. The label used to house Disney Channel talents like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Bridgit Mendler.
Apart from music, the Jonas Brothers also starred in the 2008 Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM), “Camp Rock” and its sequel. At the height of their success, the brothers were given their own Disney Channel sitcom, “Jonas” in 2009.
The Jonas Brothers reunion has been long-anticipated by fans after the trio performed "Play My Music" at the Rockin' New Year's Eve earlier this year.
