Former Senator and Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, 47, is returning to the ring for a 10-round welterweight exhibition match against former junior welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov. The fight is scheduled for April 18 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao’s last outing was on July 19, when he faced WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios. The bout ended in a controversial majority draw, with two judges scoring it even and one judge, Max DeLuca, giving Barrios a 115-113 victory.
Provodnikov enters the exhibition with a professional record of 25 wins, 5 losses, and 18 knockouts.
Pacquiao’s legendary career boasts 62 wins, 8 losses, 3 draws, and 39 knockouts. Notably, Provodnikov’s career losses include defeats to Chris Algieri, Timothy Bradley, and Lucas Matthysse—all fighters who have also faced and been bested by Pacquiao.
