You won’t be seeing him in the ring anymore, literally!
In a surprise appearance during Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada on Saturday night, John Cena announced his retirement from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2025.
In his official announcement, Cena talked about his times in WWE, and how grateful he is for the opportunities and times that he has witnessed “incredible waves of prosperity” in the two decades he spent competing as a wrestler.
WWE also proves to be an unforgettable memory for Cena because of the immense amount of support that he got from fans.
“I’ve also seen tremendous hardship. That’s when no one knows your name, nobody wants to be your friend; and only the most dedicated, hardcore fans, stand by your side,” Cena emphasized.
He added how Raw will be making history next year when it moves to Netflix, saying that it is the ultimate symbol of opportunity. But, along with all the firsts about to happen, he also said that there would be so many unforgettable lasts.
Cena made waves when he announced that his final competitions for 2025 will be in the World Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Wrestle Mania. He stated that all questions will be answered in a press conference following the announcement.

Fans cheered for and screamed “Cena” as he took the last minutes of his statement to thank everyone that has supported him. He then urged everyone that is willing to join in on the change, to "hurry up and get some" because the time is now.
“What an incredible gesture of kindness. I wanna say, thank you. Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years. Thank you so much always for your voice, ‘cause it’s really loud, and your honesty because its beautifully brutal. But most of all, thank you all for allowing me to be here with you tonight. For letting the world know that we are planning something unforgettable, which also involves me returning to Toronto to kick some ass!”
The 16-time WWE champion is one of the most recognized faces in wrestling history, and has also ventured into acting and rapping, alongside his intial career.
