

Expelled Congressman Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr.’s flight has touched down in Manila late Thursday night, paving the way for legal proceedings over his murder raps.
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) plane carrying Teves landed at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City at around 11:18 p.m. on May 29, reported RH 27 Noche Cacas.

Teves was promptly taken to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Office, where he underwent the medical and booking procedure.

Personal items he may use while in detention were thoroughly examined by NBI personnel.

Moreover, Teves’ mother and legal counsel, Atty. Ferdinand “Ferdie” Topacio, arrived at the NBI Office at around 12:30 a.m. Topacio had intended to meet Teves earlier at the Villamor Airbase, but he was not permitted immediate entry.

Topacio confirmed that Teves will be brought early this Friday to the NBI detention facility inside Building 14 of the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.
After over two years in Timor-Leste, Teves is set to stand trial for multiple counts of murder, frustrated murder, and attempted murder in connection to the ambush assassination of late Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo among others.
