LA Tenorio assured fans on Thursday, March 2, that he will once again don the Brgy. Ginebra jersey and return to the PBA court.

The 38-year-old basketball player made the assurance a day after a groin injury forced him to sit out the game between the Gin Kings and the Meralco Bolts at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Prior to the match last March 1, which Ginebra won, 112-107, Tenorio played 744 straight games, the longest streak of consecutive games played in the PBA.

"I am truly grateful to God for giving me that strength to play 744 straight games in front of millions of Filipinos all over the world," said Tenorio in a statement posted on his social media pages.

"I promise I will come back stronger and make another streak," he added.

Brgy. Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said that Tenorio will have to undergo surgery for his groin injury and that he will miss the remaining games of the team in the 2023 PBA Governor's Cup.

Tenorio earned the moniker of Iron Man after he surpassed the record set by Alvin Patrimonio for the most number of consecutive games played in PBA.
