The 14-year-old teenager died while saving his younger brother, who was taking a swim in the sea in Sitio Bool, Brgy. Sapao, town of Dumangas, Iloilo

According to Police Staff Sergeant Terrence Sorio, a Dumangas MPS investigator, the siblings went for a swim together.

However, the two brothers ended up in the deep part of the sea, and the younger brother had trouble swimming, so his brother saved him, which led to the older brother’s death.

The rescuers said that it took them more than an hour to search for the teenager’s body. He was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the police said that the younger brother is safe.
