Team Lakay founder and coach Mark Sangiao has said that he considers the upcoming fight of his son, Jhanlo "The Machine" Sangiao against Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu at ONE Fight Night 13 as a crucial test.

Mark said he views the clash, scheduled this August 5 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, as an opportunity to gauge Jhanlo's readiness to climb the rankings.

Despite the young prodigy's confidence and determination to remain undefeated through four fights, his father Mark acknowledged the significance of this challenge and the need to showcase his skills on the big stage.

“Yung preparation natin, nandoon sa gameplan. Ready na ready na si Jhanlo and hopefully, makuha natin yung panalo,” he said.

While Jhanlo's speed gives him an advantage, Mark is well aware of Baatarkhuu's resilience as evident in his previous fight against Adonis Sevilleno in April.

“Kay Enkh-Orgil, binabantayan natin yung absorbing niya sa punishment. Malakas siya, may wrestling, at the same time, gusto talagang pa-surrender-in ka. Kaya gumawa tayo ng magandang gameplan para kay Jhanlo,” said the coach.

A positive outcome in this fight could catapult Jhanlo's profile, potentially earning him consideration for the ONE Athlete Rankings in the bantamweight division.

However, Mark remains grounded, recognizing that success will ultimately depend on Jhanlo's performance against Baatarkhuu.

He admitted that the pressure is on, but he values progress and improvement in his son's abilities.

“Depende pa rin sa performance niya yan. Nakaka-pressure naman talaga kaya kailangan lang talagang ihanda ng husto si Jhanlo. Pero gusto ko laging makita yung improvement dito, kung paano yung magiging performance niya. Kaya sana maganda ang ipakita niya at manalo siya,” he said.
