Eight areas remained under Signal No. 1 as Tropical Depression Dodong has maintained its strength while it is moving Northwestern Cagayan, according to the latest weather bulletin released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The center of Dodong was last spotted in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan at about 1:00 PM .
It has maximum sustained winds of 45 km per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h.
The tropical depression is moving north-northwestward at 15 km/h.
The state weather bureau maintained Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) is still hosted on the areas of:
- Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
- Apayao
- Ilocos Norte
- Abra
- Ilocos Sur
- Mountain Province
- Kalinga
- the northern portion of Isabela (Mallig, Quezon, Santa Maria, Cabagan, Delfin Albano, Tumauini, Santo Tomas, San Pablo, Maconacon)
Meanwhile, eastern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon may experience moderate to rough seas due to TD Dodong and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.
PAGASA advised mariners of small seacrafts to "take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea."
The state weather bureau said Dodong will maintain its category as it traverse the mainland Northern Luzon.
It said that the tropical depression may intensify into tropical storm by Satuday afternoon or evening while over the West Philippine Sea.
