Tropical Depression Amang is expected to bring cloudy skies and rainfall to the Philippines from Thursday to Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The depression is moving westward and could cause heavy to intense rains in the Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region, leading to potential flooding and landslides.
"We expect that the TD will continue moving westward. So it's possible that by Thursday until Friday, the country will experience cloudy skies and rains due to 'Amang'," PAGASA weather specialist Daniel Villamil said.
A large area of Luzon and the Visayas will experience lower temperatures and rainfall in the afternoons.
TD Amang has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, with gustiness of up to 70 kph.
Tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 1 has been hoisted in various areas, including Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Quezon, and parts of Bulacan, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Isabela.
Fishing boats and other small vessels are advised not to venture into the sea, and larger vessels are alerted against big waves.
PAGASA has not identified any other weather disturbances that could affect the country at this time.
