Miss Americana is entering her director era!

American film production company Searchlight Pictures announced on December 9 that multi-awarded artist Taylor Swift will make her directorial debut in a movie.

The company president David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenhield said in a statement, “Taylor is a once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”

Aside from being the director, Taylor also wrote the original script of the movie and will be produced by the team behind “Nomadland” and “The Shape of Water.” However, the casting and plot is not yet revealed.

Taylor was recently awarded Best Direction for her work “All Too Well: The Short Film” at the 2022 Video Music Awards.

The day before her directorial announcement, the singer released the short film behind the scene sharing the production starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien.
