Of all the powerhouse women featured in Billboard’s Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century, Taylor Swift undeniably landed on top!
In celebration of its "Women in Music," Billboard named several rising and established artists who have greatly contributed to the entertainment industry that we know today. A hundred women were included in the list because of their impact on music charts and pop culture.
While Taylor was named Billboard’s “Woman of the Decade” in 2019, the music publication did not hesitate to name more of her achievements this year. Ahead of its anticipated “Women in Music” celebration at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, Billboard ranked the top-performing artists, albums, and songs of the first 25 years of the century since 2000.
The music publication’s list includes soloists, all-women groups, and groups with prominent women’s vocals. From March 13 to 19, at least 20 artists from the top 100 list were revealed.
According to Billboard, in January, Taylor was revealed as the top artist overall for the past 25 years. This incredible feat was due to her chart-topping hits and the record-breaking "The Eras Tour."
Speaking with Billboard in 2019, Taylor reflected on her career and her supporters.
“I wouldn’t give myself any advice. I would have done everything exactly the same way. Even the really tough things I’ve gone through taught me things that I never would have learned any other way,” she said.
