An operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) resulted in the rescue of a Taiwanese national who had been kidnapped in Block 5 Oak Street, Victoneta North, Barangay Potrero, Malabon City last night.
According to the report submitted by Malabon City Police Chief PCol. Jonathan Tangonan to PNP Chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr., the victim was identified as Wang Hui-Xin, a 35-year-old Taiwanese resident of Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
The police were able to pinpoint the victim's location using the GPS on her phone after a Taiwanese man reported the kidnapping to the Malabon City Police Station.
During the rescue operation, two Chinese suspects were apprehended.
They were identified as Zheng Xi Lin, 34, and Ma Pun Xin, 36, both residents of the house where the victim was found.
As per the victim's statement, she was abducted by seven Chinese men in Malate, Manila on August 14, and was taken blindfolded to the suspects' residence in Malabon, where she was sexually assaulted twice on August 18.
According to the victim's account, she was coerced to transfer over 120,000 dollars in multiple bank transactions while held captive by the suspects.
