Department of Agriculture (DA) deputy spokesperson Rex Estoperez tendered his resignation and this took effect last January 1.
Estoperez himself made the confirmation to RH Val Gonzales in an exclusive interview.
According to Gonzales's report during DZRH Rapido Hataw Balita on Thursday, January 4, Estoperez confirmed that he submitted his resignation letter to the Office of the President through DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel before Dec. 25, 2023.
"Aniya, epektibo January 1, 2024 ang kanyang resignation pero hindi na siya nagreport pa sa kanyang opisina bago December 25," Gonzales reported.

In 2023, former DA Secretary, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. tapped Estoperez as the agency's spokesperson.
Interviewed during DZRH Dos Por Dos, DA Asec. Arnel De Mesa confirmed that DA senior undersecretary Domingo 'Ding' Panganiban and DA undersecretary for Rice Industry Development Lecadio 'Leo' Sebastian had submitted their resignation last December.
De Mesa said Panginban left DA on Dec. 21, 2023 while Sebastian would depart by the end of the month.
He said the agriculture department would implement a major revamp in its organization structure this first week of January.
