The state seismologist on Friday reported that it recorded five volcanic tremors, over 4,000 tons of sulfur dioxide flux, and smog in Taal Volcano in Batangas in the past 24 hours.
In its 5 AM bulletin, Phivolcs said the volcanic tremors lasted for 20 to 575 minutes while the sulfur dioxide emission reached a total of 4,569 tones of sulfur dioxide per day on Thursday, September 21.
The state seismologist also monitored the upwelling of hot volcanic liquid in the volcano's main crater lake and a volcanic vog.
Taal volcano discharged 2,400 meters of flume before it drifted in the west-southwest and southwest directions.
Phivolcs said it had observed that there is a long-term deflation of the Taal Caldera and short-term inflation of the northern flanks of the Taal Volcano Island.
Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1.
The state seismologist warned the public living near Taal Volcano that entry to its permanent Danger Zone (PDZ), especially the main crater and Daang Kastila fissures, and occupancy and boating on Taal Lake are prohibited.
Aircraft remained restricted from flying and operating near the surfaces of Taal.
The state seismologist also remind the public to take precaution aginst Taal-induced hazards such as steam-driven or phreatic or gas-driven explosions; volcanic earthquakes; minor ashfall; and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas.
