At 3:01 PM, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) released an update about the minor phreatic eruption in Taal Main Crater, which was immediately followed by another eruption at 3:13 PM.
In an interview at the DZRH Balansyado program, Dr. Terisito Bacolcol, PHIVOLCS Director, shared that the Taal Volcano stays at Alert Level 1 at 5:40PM.
He then reminded the public to stay alert and advised not to go to the danger as it can cause harm to anyone’s health.
“Huwag munang pumunta sa permanent danger zone (the hole of Taal Volcano). Bawal po muna pumunta sa isla, may mga gasses po tayo na makakasama sa kalusugan.” he said during the interview.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bacolcol advised the public that there might still be another series of the volcano’s eruptions despite its recent activity.
