Although he expressed his determination to continue working, the company believed it was essential for him to prioritize his health, following the medical advice.

“The artist himself is determined to continue his activities, however the company felt that it would be better for him to focus on improving his health for the time being, as recommended by the medical staff,“ Pledis continued.

Consequently, Seungkwan will be unable to participate in several upcoming events, including the Tencent Music Entertainment Award (TMEA) 2023, a fan-signing event in China, and the Seoul leg of Seventeen's tour, "Follow."

Earlier in April, Seungkwan had taken a break from his activities following the tragic loss of his close friend, Moonbin, a member of the K-pop boy band ASTRO.

Pledis Entertainment had previously announced on April 29th that Seungkwan would be unable to participate in various events related to Seventeen's 10th Mini Album, "FML," due to his health condition.
