A major road accident occurred Monday morning on UN Avenue near the intersection of Taft Avenue in Manila when an SUV allegedly lost control and rammed into several vehicles, RH Boy Gonzales reported.
According to the initial investigation by the Manila District and Traffic Enforcement Unit, a Ford Everest SUV with plate number NFS-1200 went out of control and collided with a total of 13 vehicles — including 10 motorcycles, 2 cars, and 1 tricycle.
Six individuals, including five motorcycle riders and the tricycle driver, sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities temporarily closed the eastbound lane of UN Avenue from Ma. Orosa Street to Taft Avenue to manage the situation.
The accident caused slight traffic congestion in the area as the vehicles had yet to be cleared.
The SUV driver is now in police custody as investigations continue to determine the cause of the incident.
