Authorities have identified people of interest in the deaths of a police officer and a jail employee, as well as the wounding of a female civilian, during a shooting incident that occurred during a fiesta celebration in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, on Saturday night.
According to a report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office, the deceased were Patrolman Rhulin Mar Abrasaldo of the 705th Mobile Company of the RMFB 7 based in Barangay Nagbagang, Sta. Edwin Laag of the BJMP-Bayawan City facility and Catalina town.
Winchita Jamin, a civilian victim, is being treated in a hospital.
According to the preliminary investigation, the female was the target of the two suspects and was shot first by two motorcycle-riding suspects.
The nearby police officer and jail officer responded, but were then fired on by the suspects, according to Lizardo.
Meanwhile, he did not reveal the identities of the suspects.
