The San Francisco District Attorney’s (DA) office announced on Thursday, that the man responsible for the death of elderly Filipina after being shoved into the train path in San Francisco, has been indicted for murder.

On Monday at around 11p.m., 74-year-old Corazon Dandan was waiting for a train at the Powell Street BART Station, when a man pushed her into the tracks. The woman sustained severe head injuries due to the impact of her fall. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she died shortly after.

Following the incident, police arrested Trevor Belmont, 49, also known as Hoak Taing for the murder of Dandan. He was charged with one count of murder, and is accused of elderly abuse for the fatal injuries inflicted on the victim.

Dandan previously worked as a telephone operator at the Parc 55 Hotel in Union Square, and preferred working in the evening. She continued to work after retirement as she greatly loved what she did for a living.
