The alleged master initiator of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity initiation rites for Adamson student John Matthew Salilig underwent inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Saturday, March 4.
Daniel Perry, a 23-year-old suspect, surrendered to Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla on Thursday and is currently under the custody of the Biñan police.
John Michael Salilig, brother of the 24-year-old Adamson student hazing victim, filed Republic Act 11053, or the anti-hazing law, against Perry.
"Yung participation ni suspect si Mr. Perry from the very beginning hanggang sa pagbabaon ng cadaver ng victim kasama siya doon, present siya," Biñan City Police Chief Virgilio Jopia said.
Likewise, the other hazing victim, Roi de la Cruz, filed a separate count of hazing against Perry.
Salilig went missing on February 18. His decomposed body was found buried at a vacant lot in a subdivision in Malagasang, Imus City on February 28.
According to the witness, he was beaten at least 70 times during the initiation rites of the Tau Gamma Phi (Triskelion) fraternity in Biñan, Laguna the same day he went missing.
