One of the two suspects allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a couple inside a bus in Nueva Ecija has been arrested, the Central Luzon police said Tuesday.
Authorities said the gunmen — identified as Allan delos Santos — was arrested on November 20, just five days after the attack, and have already made an extrajudicial confession with assitance from his legal counsel.
He "gave crucial information" about his involvement in the double murder of the 60-year-old businesswoman and her 55-year-old partner, the police said.
A criminal complaint for two counts of murder against Delos Santos and four others was filed on Monday, December 11, before the Prosecutor's Office in Nueva Ecija.
Delos Santos also has a warrant of arrest for statutory rape and sexual assault, the Nueva Ecija police said.
An in-depth investigation further revealed that Delos Santos is a known gun-for-hire operating in Nueva Ecija and Isabela.
Allan is in the custody of the Nueva Ecija police.
The victims reportedly came from Cauayan City, Isabela and they were en route to Tarlac province when they were shot six times pointblank by two unidentified gunmen while on board a bus in Brgy. Minuli, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija last Nov. 15.
