All is well in Siargao, according to surfing instructors as they invite tourists to visit the island province.
Surfing instructor Junmar Cubillan stated that promotions should start from the government, introducing Siargao for the locals to get a job after Typhoon Odette destructed the province on December 21.
According to Cubillan, visits from tourists were not enough, and that the government should promote Siargao more and let the people know that the province is already okay.
He admitted the 300-strong surfing instructors already have customers now with a long way to go before Siargao is back to its prosperous days.
Moreover, Cubillan said that the island province is now getting back on its feet, hoping for more tourists to visit the place.
During the pre-pandemic era and the ravage of Typhoon Odette, Cubillan said that he was earning P5,000 a day compared to now that he considers himself lucky when he earns P2,000.
