Choi Siwon, a member of the K-pop boy group Super Junior, has recently tested positive for COVID-19, prompting him to skip their Manila concert slated this Saturday, August 6.
In an announcement on Wednesday, the group's agency Label SJ confirmed that Siwon contracted the viral disease while the group is preparing for their overseas schedule.
"Therefore, we ask for the fans understanding that he will be unable to attend the concert for “Super Junior World Tour – Super Show 9 : Road in Manila,” which is scheduled for this week," the agency stated.
"Siwon has currently halted all his scheduled activities, and he is in self-quarantine in accordance with the government health guidelines," it added.
According to Pulp Live World, the producer of the group's upcoming Manila concert, the rest of the Super Junior members – Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun – will participate in the concert as scheduled.
The group last visited Manila in December 2019 for their SUPER SHOW 8 concert.
Super Junior recently returned with their 11th full-length album “The Road : Keep on Going” with the title track “Mango” last month.
