Strong Group Athletics - Philippines remains undefeated in the 2024 William Jones Cup after surviving Ukraine, 82-74, on Monday, July 15, in Taiwan.
Chris Mccullough scored 28 points, and Jordan Heading added 24 points as they lead the Filipinos to their third-straight win in the tournament.
At the end of the third period, the Strong Group still trailed, 58-54.
Mccullough scored eight straight points for Strong Group to take the lead, 76-72, from Ukraine in the final quarter.
Anatoliy Shundel registered 17 points, Rostyslav Novitskyi finished with 12 points for Ukraine, which suffered back-to-back losses in the competition.
Prior to the game against Ukraine, Strong Group also defeated the United Arab Emirates, 104-79, and BSBL Guardians of Australia, 91-69, during the weekends.
Strong Group will seek to grabe win number four when the squad returns to action on Wednesday, June 17, against Malaysia
