Star Music warned to take legal action against the individuals responsible for the deep fake (AI-generated) photos and videos of BINI circulating on social media.
On Monday, BINI’s management announced that they are condemning the spread of malicious edits against the Nation’s Girl Group. They also warned to take legal action once the individuals have been identified by authorities.
“We strongly condemn these harmful acts. Our team has already taken action to remove some of these accounts. We are working with the proper government agencies and authorities to identify the individuals behind these acts and pursue legal actions,” the agency said in a statement.
“The safety and well-being of BINI remain our top priority. We will continue to monitor and take all necessary measures against any form of exploitation or harassment,” it added.
The issue erupted yesterday after fans discovered the chat rooms and social media posts that contained sexualized photos, videos, and messages on BINI members. The uproar among the fandom catapulted the words ‘PROTECT BINI’ and #SMProtectBINI on the nation’s trending on X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, other foreign celebrities like K-pop group AESPA and singer-songwriter Taylor Swift have also battled the same issues with AI in the past.
