Social Security System (SSS) President and Chief Executive Officer Rolando Macasaet has filed his irrevocable resignation in light of his candidacy as a Partylist representative.
In a letter sent to Malacañang on October 3, Macasaet's resignation will take effect on November 15, 2024. He also cited the "temporary restraining order issued by the Honorable Supreme Court against Section 11 of Comelec Resolution No. 11045."
"I hereby inform His Excellency that I will be filing my Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance as Partylist nominee on October 6, 2024," the letter reads.
Macasaet also sought the President's support for his Partylist, SSS-GSIS Pensyonado Partylist.
"Mr. President, with your kindest indulgence, I would be most grateful to receive your support and endorsement for SSS-GSIS Pensyonado Partylist."
Macasaet served as the President and General Manager of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) starting in 2019. After his tenure at GSIS, he moved on to become the President and Chief Executive Officer of the SSS.
